Doona car seat expiration
Doona states the useful life of its seats as 6 years (doona Car Seat & Strollers manufactured before July 1, 2026, as stated on Doona's support FAQ) · 7 years (doona Car Seat & Strollers manufactured on or after July 1, 2026, as stated on Doona's support FAQ) · 6 years (doona seats with no manufacture-date condition, as stated in Doona's myths-vs-facts parenting-tips article). The date of manufacture on your seat's label plus that figure is the expiration date.
Doona's figure keys on the date on the seat, not on the model. Doona's support FAQ states a recommended service life of 6 years from the manufacturing date for Doona Car Seat & Strollers made before July 1, 2026 and 7 years for those made on or after that date, and states the same split for LATCH and ISOFIX bases. Doona's own tiebreaker is the sticker: refer to the sticker on the bottom of the Doona to determine its manufacturing date, and that date decides which figure Doona applies. Two complications sit on top of that. The FAQ words those figures as a recommended service life, and separately defines the expiration date as 7 years after the manufacturer's date for products manufactured on or after July 1, 2026. And a still-live Doona parenting-tips article states a flat six years with no date condition, which does not match the dated split on the FAQ; both are listed here rather than averaged, with the FAQ the more specific of the two pages. Doona's US instruction manuals for the Doona+ and the Doona X carry no useful-life, expiration or service-life statement at all, so these figures are read from Doona's website only.

Where the date is on a Doona seat
The manufacturing date is on the sticker on the bottom of the Doona seat, and the same sticker carries the model number. One inconsistency sits in Doona's own material: the Warranty & Product Registration page describes the traceability sticker as "a white label on the back of each product", where the FAQ says the bottom. That page shows the exact spot in images rather than words, so the image content could not be read.
Please refer to the sticker on the bottom of the Doona to determine its manufacturing date.
