Maxi-Cosi does not publish one number. Its support page states only a range — "Car seat expiration dates range from eight to twelve years, depending on the product." — and on that same page Maxi-Cosi gives its own tiebreaker: "To find out when the seat expires, look in your manual for the lifespan of your seat." The figure is per product, and Maxi-Cosi's manuals state three different ones: 8 years for the Mico infant seats, 10 years for the Pria convertible and all-in-one line, and 12 years for the Magellan XP. Two complications follow. First, a Mico infant seat and its base carry separate 8-year clocks, each from its own date of manufacture, so the two can run out at different times. Second, the label is not in one place: the support page generalizes to the back of the seat, which holds for the Mico infant seats, but the Pria manuals say "On the side of the car seat", the Magellan XP manual says "On the side of the child restraint", and the Mico base manual says "On the top of the base". The 8-year figure here is read from the Mico 30, Mico Max 30, Mico XP / Mico XP Max, Mico Luxe and Mico Pro manuals — the last two retrieved on 2026-09-03 from the "User Guide - English" links on Maxi-Cosi's own Car Seat Support Center page, each stating the same sentence. Maxi-Cosi manuals for the plain Mico, Mico Nxt, Mico AP, Mico Luxe+ and Mico Pro Plus were not read for this record, so no figure is stated here for those seats. Where the date is on a Maxi-Cosi seat
It varies by line. On the Mico infant seats (Mico 30, Mico Max 30, Mico XP / Mico XP Max) the date-of-manufacture label is on the back of the seat shell. The Mico Infant Car Seat Base has its own label on the top of the base. Pria convertible and all-in-one seats put it on the side of the car seat, and the Magellan XP on the side of the child restraint. Maxi-Cosi's support page generalizes to the back of the seat, which does not hold for the convertible and all-in-one lines.
