Safety 1st states the useful life of its seats as 10 years (the Grow and Go™ Car Seat, per the Grow and Go owner-center FAQ on safety1st.com) · 10 years (the seat covered by the Grow and Go™ / EverFit All-in-One Convertible instruction manual, item 4358-8705 rev. 05.12.25, under its "Expiration" heading) · 8 years (the seats covered by the onBoard 35, onBoard 35 Air, onBoard 35 Air +, onBoard Air 360 infant-seat instruction manual, item 4358-8078 rev. 8.26.20, under its "Expiration" heading). The date of manufacture on your seat's label plus that figure is the expiration date.
Safety 1st publishes no per-category useful-life table. Its expiration page states only a range — car seat expiration dates range from eight to twelve years, depending on the product — and tells owners to look in the individual seat's manual, so the per-seat figure comes from that manual, and it varies: the Grow and Go / EverFit All-in-One Convertible manual states 10 years, while the onBoard 35 infant-seat manual states 8. The two 10-year statements agree with each other; they do not settle any seat outside the manual that carries them. Nothing Safety 1st publishes says which product sits at the 12-year end of the range, so no seat here is listed at 12. For your own seat, the manual and the stamp on the shell are what Safety 1st points to.

Where the date is on a Safety 1st seat
Safety 1st's expiration page puts the date-of-manufacture sticker on the back of the seat, and describes that as true of "many" — not all — of their seats. Both manuals read this round place it on the side instead: "On the side of the car seat there is a date of manufacture label as shown." The same manuals send you to that side label for the model number, manufacture date and line code when registering. The spot is model-dependent, so follow the manual for your own seat.
